Montenegro is a small country but very rich in diversity of nature and cultural heritage, as well as, adrenaline activities. It attracts the attention of tourists worldwide with its gorgeous beaches, glacial lakes, high peaks, breathtaking landscapes ornamented with many cultural monuments. In one day, you can swim in the sea and hike peaks over 2000m.a.s.l. It takes only a 3.5h drive from the south to the north – from the seaside to the mountain area. You can travel in the time since there are a lot of traces of Illyrians, Romans, Venetians, Ottomans, Austro-Hungarians. Montenegro has a wide range of offerings, so on you is to choose!

What to Expect

Podgorica is the capital of Montenegro and the administrative, educational and economic centre of the country. It is located in the central part so the north and south are relatively closed. After a 2h drive, you can swim in the Adriatic sea; go rafting on the fast rapids of the second deepest canyon in the world or go canyoning in the last conquered canyon in Europe!

Podgorica as a town offers an amazing historical walk through its old part, with many historical buildings as well as modern monuments, churches and buildings. Also, there are a lot of coffee shops and restaurants so you can feel the everyday life in Montenegro and taste traditional food or you can go shopping in several shopping malls!

DAY 1Arrival

Arrive at Podgorica Airport and transfer to the hotel “Ambassador”.

The hotel “Ambassador” is surrounded by fragrant pine trees and idyllic landscapes and is located on the banks of the Morača River in Podgorica. Built-in a modern style, this hotel offers comfortable and spacious rooms with free Wi-Fi. All rooms have an air conditioner, a minibar and a private bathroom with a hairdryer. The hotel also has outdoor and indoor restaurants serving local and European specialities.

DAY 2Day at leasure

For this day there are no planned activities. You have all day to spend it as you wish.

You can explore the town on your own or we can book a city tour for you.

Visiting several places in Podgorica is a must. It is the old part of Podgorica called “Stara Varos”, with Doganjska Mosque from the 15^th century, Clock tower from 17^th century and Skaline (“the stairs”) – probably one of the most historic and picturesque sites of Podgorica.

Then, the orthodox Cathedral of the Resurrection of Christ and the church of Saint George from the 11^th century, the Russian bridge, the Millenium Bridge, the Monument of Saint Petar Cetinjski, Vladimir Vysotsky Monument and King Nikola’s Palace from the 19^th century.

Also, there are two pedestrian streets: Hercegovacka and Njegoseva with many restaurants, coffee shops and boutiques. If you are a shopping lover, three shopping malls: Delta City, Mall of Montenegro and City Mall will be a paradise in Montenegro for you!

The perfect place to spend an afternoon is “Niagara falls” – one of the most beautiful and accessible waterfalls in Montenegro, at the Cijevna river. It is 20 minutes – drive by car from Podgorica.

In the evening, you can go out to some of the many coffee shops in Bokeska street or in the modern City quart.

DAY 4 – Rafting on Tara River

For this day we recommend “Day trip from Budva with Canyons & Rafting” with the most popular activity in Montenegro. It is a rafting tour of the deepest canyon in Europe!

This day trip starts no later than 8 o’clock, drive through the canyon of river Moraca, also known as canyon Platije. The road is reflected in a total of 32 tunnels, some of which run for miles through the rocky interior of the mountains, and some just like arches, cut through a large rock. The journey to the Djurdjevica Tara bridge will go by quickly since you will be travelling through the picturesque area!

The Djurdjevica Tara bridge is an architectural masterpiece over the majestic Tara Canyon! It held two world records, one of which remains today. It’s first and the largest arch, of a total of five concrete arches, has a span of 116 meters and nothing like this has ever been done in the world before! The second world record for this bridge, which has never been surpassed and will never be because of advanced construction technology, is the construction of the largest wooden scaffold for the purpose of building a bridge, which cost as much as 40% of the total cost of the bridge! It is the centre of adrenaline activities in this part of Montenegro.

Tara Canyon is one of the main reasons people come to explore Montenegro. The “Tear of Europe” takes pride in being Europe´s deepest canyon and the second deepest in the world after Grand Canyon in the USA. Rafting for 10 km of impressive rapids will surely trigger your adrenaline rush!

Following a delicious lunch after rafting adventure, you can enjoy a 1050m-long extreme zip-line across the world’s second deepest canyon at speeds that range up to 120 km/h! (optional activity, price: 25 €). This zipline is classed as one of the fastest in the world and represents a real treat for the greatest lovers of extreme adventures and wild nature.

Back to the hotel in the late afternoon. Dinner and overnight.

DAY 5 - Paragliding, Kayaking or Canyoning Day

This day is planned to be free so you can do whatever you want. We can book for you some of the many popular activities in Montenegro.

Skadar lake is one of five national parks in Montenegro and the largest bird reserve in Europe! Kayaking through the waters of the largest lake in the Balkans, all covered by flourished water lilies and surrounded by the untouched forest would be an amazing experience.

If you are an adrenaline lover, canyoning in the last conquered canyon in Europe will definitely be the perfect choice to spend the day in Montenegro. Eternal shade, no sun, cliffs raised along the canyon, crystal clear but freezing water, passages so narrow that sometimes just one person can pass through it. Sounds like a fictional place? Sounds but it exists. That’s where you will spend 5hand this activity is a real paradise for all adrenaline lovers, because it includes jumping into pools, swimming, wading, and sometimes even diving while the sky is mostly invisible!

Paragliding from the place Brajici at an altitude of 790m.a.s.l. is one of the most favourite tourists’ activities in Montenegro. Get an aerial view of a beautiful landscape in the mountains with the buildings and walls of the Budva fortress, Bečići beach and the famous peninsula of Sveti Stefan.

Starts on & Ends on of the Tour

Starts on: You arrive by plane at Podgorica/Dubrovnik and airport transfer to Budva is included. We’ll meet you at the airport Podgorica in the arrivals lounge after your plane landed, according to the scheduled time or on the agreement. Our guide or driver will be waiting for you outside the arrival lounge with Montenegro Adventure written on our signboard. Airport Podgorica is the arrival airports recommended for this tour because it provides much shorter transfer times to accommodation on Day 1.

Ends on: Your tour ends at the Airport Podgorica/Dubrovnik, or by agreement. In case to continue the tour, stay in Budva.

In the itinerary, for each day, you can see separately which place as well as what type of accommodation you will be staying at.

For our travellers to have the best accommodation in terms of both price and location with our accommodation partners, we make flexible bookings and in the final agreement, we will inform the passenger about his accommodation no later than 14 days before departure. All this means that you get the best possible accommodation with the most attractive location, which will cost you nothing more.

Many tour operators have accommodation located on the outskirts of the city or a long way from attractive places to get a lower price in their travel programs. In this way, passengers are given additional transport costs and the loss of precious time during the stay to visit the desired location. That’s why we want it to be our last option, and that the guest gets the best accommodation on all destinations during the tour.

E.g. we do so because instead of your hotel of 4 stars, you may get a 5 stars hotel, or perhaps a better location, facilities or other if it is the same hotel class.

Change and Cancellation Policy

All changes are subject to availability and a price increase or equivalent administrative charge imposed during the booking process.

• The addresses or location on the voucher are the places where you will be picked up and left.

Montenegro Adventure also reserves the right not to offer the tour if the ordered service differs too much from the service booked at the first opportunity. Changes made less than 7 days before the scheduled departure time are not allowed unless the transfer provider or destination requires otherwise.

Cancellation:
The partner is entitled to cancel the tour and is required to inform the Montenegro Adventure. Cancellation can be made on our website or by e-mail: booking@montenegroadventure.travel. The date of the written cancellation is the basis for calculating the fee, according to the General Terms and Conditions of the Montenegro Adventure, expressed as a percentage of the total price.

if it’s not otherwise stated, the following cancellation rules apply:

• Any booking cancelled more than 61 days prior to arrival date pays a 10% fee.
• Bookings cancelled between 60 and 30 days of arrival date pay a 25% cancellation fee.
• Bookings cancelled between 29 and 12 days of arrival date pay a 50% cancellation fee.
• Bookings cancelled less than 11 days from arrival date pay a 100% cancellation fee.

We advise all clients to take out cancellation insurance.

Gratuity (Tip, Bakhshish): Your Montenegro Adventure crew never expect to tip themselves and will not request any. However, if you are pleased with our staff who have served you, and you still want to give tip, our staff will appreciate it and be grateful for your gesture.
Clothes: Make sure you wear comfortable clothes and shoes for the tour. A hat or cap, sunscreen, and appropriate sun protection clothing is required during warmer months. A small umbrella or raincoat for rain will be useful in case of light rain. The weather in the mountains of Montenegro can be very unpredictable (warmer clothing for months other than summer). Please prepare for various weather conditions.
