National Park Durmitor with the Tara Canyon, the second deepest canyon in the world, is a part of UNESCO world heritage, is an inexhaustible place, not only for nature but also for various adventures and activities like Via Ferrata, rock climbing, mountain biking, etc.
Tour highlights:
The first day of the tour is simply the day of arrival without any organized activities. We’ll meet you at the airport in the arrivals lounge after your plane landed for a “welcome meeting”, according to the scheduled time, or on the agreement.

The Tara River Canyon is one of the main reasons you came to explore Montenegro. The Tara River Canyon takes a proud Europe´s longest canyon and the second-longest in the world after Grand Canyon in Colorado.
This impressive canyon is 1330 m deep and 80 km long, also under UNESCO protection. Tara River’s cascading waters cut a deep lane, winding through the mountains, boasting rife blue-green sapphire colours with over 50 water rapids ready to take you on the experience of your life!
With about 60 km of rapids and a great rafting adventure on this spectacular part of the canyon, the river provides real pleasure in this imposing green canyon with untouched wild nature. Experienced or not, you will be able to enjoy the astonishing views of the green forest, canyon, river, and waterfalls. Along the canyon has high cliffs, sandy beaches, rocky and pebbly terraces and very many caves and springs. As well, the opportunity to see several cultural and historical treasures.
There are no descriptions that convey the enjoyment, attractiveness, natural beauty and all positive that this exceptional adventure offers, it must be seen and experienced. The pulse and excitement at “Tear of Europe”, which is too called the river, for it gives pure drinking water throughout the canyon. One of those adventures that are long remembered.

Besides attractive cascades and rapids, also you can see Europe’s shortest river and largest water spring Ljutica as well as the impressive Đurđevića Tara Bridge. The 1nd-day ride toward Radovan Luka is nearly 25 km and lasts 5-6 hours. After a short break at Ljutica Falls, the ride on the rapids right under the famous Djurdjevića Tara Bridge, before lunch at the Žugića Luka. You will enjoy a delicious lunch with the specialities of the local cuisine. If you are vegetarian or vegan, just when booking, please inform us. After lunch rafting continues to Radovan Luka, through Bijele ploče (White plates) cascades. You will pass Mušo’s Vrela (Mušo’s Springs) where the canyon is deepest and past the Strait Lazin Kamen (Lazin stone) the point where the river is tight (only 4 m) with very deep water before we reach Radovan Luka endpoint for today’s rafting, a free time, dinner and overnight tent in the canyon.

This grandiose two-day rafting Šljivansko – Šćepan Polje will let you in two days to experience and see about 60 km of the Tara River, well-known for its outstanding beauty.
The last part of the Tara River canyon has the biggest and most attractive cascades and rapids. You will see beautiful landscapes and experience more than 50 exciting cascades. Also, there is a slight chance to encounter wildlife along the slopes of the canyon-like chamois, bears, wolves, and deer that live within the surrounding forests. Moreover, you can also uncover huchen, trout, grayling, and carp in Tara’s water. Likewise, don’t be surprised to see the chamois or wolves climb up the slopes.
After breakfast, our 2nd-day rafting ride continues to Šćepan Polje, at least 5-6 hrs and about 35 km. The ride begins with Djurašica, Gradina and Tepački cascade towards the Bajlovića sige waterfall, which together with the cave which contains a lake on two levels is considered to be the most beautiful part of the Tara River canyon. This is also the place that begins the deepest part of the canyon, 1300 m deep.
After a short break from the Bajlovića sige rafting continue to the Brštanovica cascades and rafting camp for a short break. After the break, the most attractive rapids on Tara, where we will enjoy the idyllic landscape with adrenalin rafting over 20 exciting rapids and several waterfalls, like Pećine (The caves) and Borovi (pinery), Varda, Ćelije (Cells), cascades Vernovića (Upper and Lower) which are the largest slope in the abundance of rapids.
Stop with short breaks on the most beautiful rapids and waterfalls. Rafting endpoint Šćepan Polje, where we will change clothes, and have delicious lunch. The return ride takes about two hours through spectacular scenery.

If there’s something you’d love to do on Durmitor Mountain, today is the day to do it. On and around the mountain you have a choice of a wide variety of activities tailored for the whole family, from kayaking or SUP on Black Lake to mountain biking, paragliding, etc.
National Park Durmitor is famous for its beauty, peaks over 2000 m, glacial lakes and the second deepest canyon in the world! UNESCO recognized the value of this area and put it under protection. There are a lot of optional activities to spend unforgettable days on Durmitor Mountain such as hiking, kayaking, mount biking, paragliding, rafting, and zipline. On you is to choose.
While your SUP or kayak is moving smoothly on the lake, enjoy the view of the mountain peaks, with picturesque surroundings, that open in front of you. Take a mountain biking tour with an intimate touch of untouched nature. Fly with a paraglider over Durmitor fields from the top of Savin Kuk (2313m). Try a canyoning or fishing tour, as well as some other attractive offers.
Alternatively, enjoy a lazy morning before taking in the beaches of Black Lake at a steady pace.

Imagine yourself in the heart of a spectacular canyon, diving into the turbulent waves, descending down the cliffs and waterfalls through meter wide narrow passages. Nevidio is the last conquered Canyon in Europe with cliffs that are so close to each other that at some points they prevent the light from getting in.
It is one of the biggest climbing challenges in this part of Europe. For this adventure, you need full climbing equipment including diving suits. On the way through the three and a half kilometres long canyon, you will come across waterfalls, straits, cascades, white water, narrow channels, and a whole gallery of nature-made sculptures. Those who decide to take this alpine adventure must know that once you get in and start going down the galleries, cascades, and waterfalls you cannot go back – you have to go all the way to the end!

We travel to Lake Biograd, which is situated at an elevation of 1,094 meters in the center of Biogradska Gora National Park. Of the seven glacial lakes spread across the national park, it is the largest and most beautiful lake. It has a 228,500 m2 surface area and an average depth of 4.5 m. The deepest point is 12.1 meters. 870 meters long and 261 meters broad, the lake.

Wake up to the sounds of roosters and bleating sheep at Katun Vranjak. In the morning you have the opportunity to leisurely, rest, or enjoy one of the many optional tours or activities. If there’s something you’d love to do on the mountain, today is the day for it. You can bike the slopes of the mountain or take horseback riding across the Bjelasica, or hike to Zekova Glava (2117 m), and Pešića Lake (1838 m).
Also, add an optional activity like Canyoning Mrtvica or Jeep Safari Bjelasica, or climb to the highest peak of Bjelasica Crna Glava (2139 m), and enjoy the views that will leave you breathless. After breakfast, we leave the gorgeous Bjelasica Mountain and travel towards one of five national parks in Montenegro – Mount Prokletije.
Discover Prokletije, also known as the Balkan Alps, a unique huge mountain range, full of unspoiled natural beauty and attractions, one of the most uncovered and rather mysterious sights in Montenegro. Prokletije covers the territory of the three countries Montenegro, Albania, and Kosovo.
Stunning views of Prokletije, as well as their true wealth of flora and fauna, are a real draw for tourists and hikers. Between Mount Visitor and Prokletije is Plav Lake, a glacial lake at the height of 906 m above sea level. Glacial lakes, rivers, large and small streams, springs and sources of drinking water, underground aquifers, and mountain ponds make up the hydrography of this mountain. After breakfast, you trek the slopes of Mt. Bogićevica (2204 m) and Hridsko Jezero (Hrid Lake), situated at an altitude of 1970m above sea level. Hrid Lake is a glacial lake, not big, but what makes it special is the fact that it is one of the highest – if not the highest – lakes of Montenegro. It is surrounded by craggy mountain peaks, a “craggy rock” is called ‘hrid’ in Montenegrin.
The lake is hidden under the steep cliffs of Hridski Krš and Mount Bogićevica in a picturesque mountain scenery with interesting rock creation and high pine and spruce trees. A legend says that the lake was created by the Gods, as a hidden bathing place for fairies where they could bathe, unseen by humans. In the Albanian-speaking area, the lake is still known as the “Fairy Lake”.

Voucher:
The customer is supposed to show either a paper or an e-Voucher to our staff or tour guide at the start of the tour.
Change:
All changes are subject to availability and a price increase or equivalent administrative charge imposed during the booking process.
• For any type of change, please contact our Customer Center directly.
• The addresses or location on the voucher are the places where you will be picked up and left. Montenegro Adventure also reserves the right not to offer the tour if the ordered service differs too much from the service booked at the first opportunity. Changes made less than 7 days before the scheduled departure time are not allowed unless the transfer provider or destination requires otherwise.
Cancellation:
The partner is entitled to cancel the tour and is required to inform the Montenegro Adventure. Cancellation can be made on our website or by e-mail: booking@montenegroadventure.travel. The date of the written cancellation is the basis for calculating the fee, according to the General Terms and Conditions of the Montenegro Adventure, expressed as a percentage of the total price, if it’s not otherwise stated, as follows:
• Any booking cancelled more than 61 days prior to arrival date pays a 10% fee.
• Bookings cancelled between 60 and 30 days of arrival date pay a 25% cancellation fee.
• Bookings cancelled between 29 and 12 days of arrival date pay a 50% cancellation fee.
• Bookings cancelled less than 11 days from arrival date pay a 100% cancellation fee.
We advise all clients to take out cancellation insurance.

If you are under 18 you will need parental permission unless you travel in the company of an adult (18 years of age or older).
Children’s minimum age:
Please, be sure to check in the travel program if the child’s age is limited. In most activities we offer, the minimum age for children is 7 years, but we also have tours where the age of the child is not limited.
However, children under 7 years (0-6 years) cannot do all the activities, and parents must always supervise them. If there is a possibility, we can arrange childcare if parents want to leave their younger children to stay with our staff.
The minimum age for Rafting, Canyoning, Walking, or Trekking – child older than 7 years. Paragliding, Horseback riding, and Quad (ATV) would be 10 years. The minimum age for Kayak, SUP, and Rock Climbing is 12 years.

TIPPING (Gratuity, Bakhshish): Please note that tipping is customary in Montenegro since a service charge is not added to the bill for example meals at restaurants, taxi rides, and so on. However, a modest tip is always appreciated when left as a thank you to staff who have served you, for exceptional service on a guided tour or at a restaurant, for example. The staff will appreciate it and be grateful for your gesture.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: This is an easy/moderate difficult tour, with a few long hiking days combined with multi-sport activities such as mountain biking, river rafting, and/or zip-lining. We recommend you be physically fit for the trip.
SUGGESTED PACKING LIST: International driving license, credit card, extra cash – euro € (currency), road maps (google maps eg) and guidebook, camera (possibly extra batteries and memory card), sunblock, sunglasses, sun hat or cap, swimwear and towel, sandals, waterproof bag (for your phone or camera), water bottle, smaller hiking backpack (possibly. trekking boots, hiking pants, hiking poles, rain poncho, hat, sweater, thermals, warm socks, glove), flashlight/torch, snorkelling equipment, personal first aid kit (possibly. hand sanitiser, mask).
CLOTHES: Make sure you wear comfortable clothes and shoes for the tour. A hat or cap, sunscreen, and appropriate sun protection clothing is required during warmer months. A small umbrella or raincoat for rain will be useful in case of light rain. The weather in the mountains of Montenegro can be very unpredictable (warmer clothing for months other than summer). Please prepare for various weather conditions.
