Itinerary

DAY 1Arrival and welcome meeting

The first day of this amazing two-week tour is simply the day of arrival at airport Tivat or Dubrovnik without any organized activities.

Transfer from the airport Tivat (TIV) or Dubrovnik (DBV) to the Hotel. You get time to relax and see some of the sights you might want to add to your tour.
If you arrive early, we can book you some activity from our optional activities on this day or go into the city and see some of the sites that make town popular the country over.

DAY 2City Tour Budva & Sveti Stefan Island

In the morning you will be picked up at your hotel at approximately 9.00am. Your tour leader will take you a few kilometers from Budva to see one of the most famous jewels in the Budva Riviera: St. Stephen Island (Sveti Stefan) a luxurious five-star island hotel deluxe resort. Here you will get the chance to admire the Villa Miločer, where you can witness the island and its sandy beaches of Sveti Stefan, Miločer Beach, and Queen’s Beach.

After that, we will visit St Stephen Island and enjoy a “City Tour of Budva” sightseeing tour.
The old town of Budva (Stari Grad) is the oldest urban settlement on the Adriatic Sea and the main tourist centre in Montenegro, a Dubrovnik in miniature with small narrow alleys, lovely cafes and cosy restaurants. The charming area with fantastic views of St. Nicholas Island, the sea and the mountains around.
Budva, along Kotor, is the only Montenegro town with a completely walled city centre. Here you will have some free time for lunch etc.

Historical Sveti Stefan Old Town
The streets of the Old Town are dotted with bars and restaurants, shops and hotels, all supporting the main economic driver of the area, tourism. Within the walls, one will find medieval forts, a citadel, narrow cobbled alleys and streets connecting small squares around the city.

In the afternoon, you will have time for some free activities or shopping.

DAY 3Boka Bay with Kotor and Perast

After breakfast at half-past eight, we visit Kotor, a walled city nestled at the bottom of Europe’s deepest fjord. Stari Grad in Kotor, (the old town), is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with a tricky labyrinth of cobbled alleys, squares and ancient churches, including St Tryphon’s Cathedral built-in 1166.
The mountains provide a dramatic backdrop to this beautiful town as they come down steeply, almost to the waterfront.

Also, you will have the opportunity to climb the walls of the ancient fort of Sveti Ivan which spans some 4.5 kilometres above the city on almost vertical cliffs.
Your efforts will be rewarded with an excellent view of Kotor and its bay. Once you are in the shade of the medieval walls you can enjoy yourself drinking espresso in the shade or explore the cosy shops.

After Kotor, we drive towards Perast to take photos of the gorgeous ”Church of Our Lady of the Rock”. If you look at Perast, in the bay you will see two islands which seems to swim on the sea surface, unrealistic acting even to those who have watched them before, Our Lady of the Rocks (Gospa od Škrpjela) and St. George (Sveti Đorđe) Island. We will take a boat tour to church. In the early afternoon, after a tasty lunch return to our hotel. Free time, dinner and overnight.

DAY 4Skadar Lake with Boat Cruise

After breakfast at 9 o’clock, we will discover Lake Skadar’s shared between two countries Albania and Montenegro. This is the largest lake in Europe and one of the last freshwater marshes in the Mediterranean with the largest bird sanctuary and the last habitat for pelicans in Europe. Highlights of this exciting tour are going to take you on a boat cruise designed for nature lovers to let you experience the amazing lake with rich flora and fauna, history from various periods and different cultures that left their marks on all these areas.

The lake is full of islands and peninsulas on which there are traces of history and valuable cultural heritage: Lesendro – the castle on a rock in the middle of the lake – the fortress Grmožur, the capital of former Zeta – Žabljak from the 15th century.
You will also have the opportunity to admire some of Europe’s last pelicans, eagles, rare birds, owls, and more.
It is stated that 270 kinds of birds inhabit this Lake. Also, this is the only habitat of pelicans in the south of Europe.

DAY 6Day Trip Canyons & Black Lake

After breakfast at 8 o’clock, we will enjoy a stunning day tour with Canyons & Black Lake. We will visit the magnificent canyons of Tara and Morača and enjoy an amazing day in breathtaking nature. The northern region in Montenegro is covered in high mountains that are crisscrossed by magnificent canyons, whose beauty leaves no one indifferent. Once we reach the canyon we will admire the famous bridge Đurđevića Tara, an architectural masterpiece with its five arches 172 meters above this incredible and unique river Tara.

This gorgeous canyon is 80 km long and 1330 m deep and under the protection of UNESCO. Tara River Canyon takes pride in being the second longest canyon in the world after USA’s Grand Canyon.

After a delicious lunch in one of the national restaurants, we return to the hotel in Budva.

DAY 7Day tour Cetinje & Lovćen

After breakfast at 9 o’clock, we will visit the historical postcard of Montenegro, the old royal capital Cetinje with its many museums and charming streets. This town is situated at the foothill of Mountain Lovćen, a unique natural and historical monument of Montenegro. We’ll explore the national park Lovćen, known for authentic and unspoiled natural beauty.  Once we arrive at the top of the mountain you will get a magnificent view of the surrounding area at the highest positioned mausoleums in the world.

After a delicious lunch in one of the national restaurants, you will have some free time to explore sights on your own.

DAY 8Journey to Croatia - Dubrovnik

After breakfast at 8 o’clock, we leave lovely Montenegro and drive along the enchanting Adriatic Coast to the neighbouring country of Croatia and Dubrovnik town.
While driving through the bay, we will enjoy the beautiful views of the surrounding area and make a few stops to take photos.

DAY 9Elafiti Islands Day Cruise from Dubrovnik

After breakfast at 9 o’clock, we’ll start our day tour with a cruise to the Elaphite Islands from Dubrovnik onboard a unique ship. Your tour begins by sailing to a peaceful oasis near Dubrovnik – the Island of Koločep. Koločep Island is the smallest settled island in the Elaphite Archipelago covered with pine forest and home to a scenic fishing village located on the bay.

After Koločep island, our cruise continues to the island of Šipan on to the town of Suđurađ, a fishing port that’s home to the 16th-century villa of the Skočibuha family. The island of Lopud is our last stop, a place with a very long naval tradition and home to many known sailors and captains. You’ll also have the opportunity to enjoy a swim off sandy beaches, savour lunch with Croatian specialities, and visit historic sites on this amazing sea adventure.

Thereafter we return to the hotel and have free time.

DAY 10 Pelješac peninsula & Island of Korčula

After breakfast and no later than 9 o’clock, we drive to visit the island of Korčula. On this adventurous day tour from Dubrovnik, we will enjoy the scenery while travelling through the vineyards and forested hills of the peninsula Pelješac.
Make a stop in the ancient town of Ston, famous for its medieval five-kilometre long walls, widely considered among the finest fortified towns in Europe.
Discover the Korčula town – the hometown of Marco Polo, the famous world traveller.
Visit the Cathedral of St. Mark, Marco Polo’s alleged birthplace, the Revelin Tower and of course medieval city walls.

DAY 11Vrelo Bune with Mostar & Kravica Waterfalls

Vrelo Bune
After breakfast at 8 o’clock, we drive to Vrelo Bune in Blagaj, a unique natural and architectural ensemble. Vrelo Bune is a spring, a nice beautiful place. Buildings have been built in Blagaj since the 15th century, therefore the site is culturally significant, and even a religious place. Springs that make the river and stream from the caverns are well-known for producing clean and cold water.
The Blagaj Tekke – a monastery, that was built in the 17th century is located next to the source of the Buna river. Besides the stunning rocks and river, historic architecture, Blagaj is also home to numerous endemic species and diverse flora.

Old Bridge or Stari Most
Mostar, Old Bridge
Afterwards, we visit one of Mostar’s most famous sites the Old Bridge (Stari Most), a famous UNESCO World Heritage Site. The jewel of Mostar, Old Bridge, was built by the Ottomans in the 16th century and is exemplary of typical Islamic architecture. Around the Old Bridge is its čaršija (market), with markets spread on each side of the river near to the bridge. Thanks to the historic Ottoman architecture čaršija has a distinctly eastern feel with plenty of traditional market stalls, mosques, restaurants, and other historic buildings. The market has a lot of stalls selling copper items, painted plates, rugs, and souvenirs, and gives to tourists a good insight into a traditional Bosnian way of life.

Kravica waterfalls
Kravica waterfalls are separated into 20 falls and a height of about 25 meters, while the lower lake is about 120 meters in radius. It is a serene natural site, but there are also the added attractions to enjoy the general beauty of the place. It should also be visited out the stalactite formations inside a natural cave nearby. There are the old mill and a sailing ship that could be worth also visiting.

DAY 13 The Tour Počitelj & Međugorje

After breakfast at 9 o’clock, we will visit Počitelj (“Počivati” – bos. “to rest in peace”) a UNESCO-protected stunningly nested town above the Neretva river. We visit the most important sites such as Hajji Alija Mosque, Clock Tower and Gavrankapetanovic tower. This unique medieval fortress town of Počitelj is Ottoman-era glorified which present the Ottoman-Mediterranean style “architectured” fortress, as well as one of the very few urban ensembles in Bosnia and Herzegovina, preserved in their integrity to this day.

Afterwards, we visit Međugorje which is a town of “Our Lady of Međjugorje”, an unofficial place of Catholic pilgrimage since the Virgin Mary allegedly appeared on Apparition Hill in 1981. The messages reputed to Our Lady of Međjugorje have a strong following among Catholics worldwide, but also many people of other faiths visit this place. There is a “Queen of Peace” statue marking the site of the 1st apparition and one in front of the St. James Church. It has been said that drip liquid from the “Risen Christ” statue near the church, and there is a concrete cross tops Cross Mountain, to the south.

DAY 14Konavle & Cavtat tour

After breakfast at 9 o’clock, we drive from Dubrovnik to the southern region to visit Croatia’s little jewel, a small medieval harbour town called Cavtat, which today stores magnificent examples of art and architecture interlaced with the local style of life. Cavtat’s best-kept secret is the old harbour with the gorgeous seaside promenade lined with palm trees that hide many lovely restaurants. It has been compared to France’s glamorous Saint Tropez.

Upon arrival in the town, we enjoy a cold drink, an optional cup of coffee, or a snack. Along the seaside promenade, you can admire Vlaho Bukovac’s works, a worldwide modern Croatian painter, as the Franciscan Monastery and the Račić Mausoleum situated on an uphill at the tip of the Cavtat peninsula.

After Cavtat, our amazing tour continues through Konavle valley where you will be fascinated by the Falcon Tower and all the small, picturesque villages built in the 11th century. We visit the village of Gruda where we will become acquainted with the silk production and the significance of Konavle embroidery.

On the way back to Dubrovnik we’ll go up the hill Srdj for a beautiful panoramic view of Dubrovnik’s archipelago and Dubrovnik’s Old Town.

Airport: If you arrive by plane and airport transfer is included (or you purchased separately a transfer), we’ll meet you at the airport in the arrivals lounge after your plane landed, according to the scheduled time or on the agreement. Our guide or driver will be waiting for you outside the arrival lounge with your name written on our signboard. Please, check our website or travel agency beforehand for the correct start and end locations and times.

Hotel & Accommodation: If you are already in your hotel/accommodation, the welcome meeting may be scheduled on the day of arrival at 20:00 or on the agreement. If you arrive late at night the welcome meeting should be held the next day before breakfast. Please check in your voucher, our website the itinerary or hotel reception, where will be a welcome meeting.
If you arrive at the hotel 1-2 days earlier welcome meeting will be held along with other passengers according to the program, but you are welcome to contact us for any other service or information.

Other: If you arrive on Day 2 on your own, with your own car, bus or otherwise, you‘ll be at the starting/meeting point at least 30 minutes before departure time. To ensure smooth operation, we cannot take requests for late departures. Please double-check your booking beforehand for the correct start and end locations and time. Please note that we show all meeting/starting locations available on the website. So please use this as a reference only.

Transport & Transfer

Arrival airport: Airport Tivat or Airport Dubrovnik is the arrival airports recommended for this tour because it provides much shorter transfer times to accommodation on Day 1. Private transfers can be an economical alternative to public transport in Montenegro or Croatia, in some cases equal to the cost of public transportation in the EU. You can book private transfers from/to airports and to/from hotels on our website.

Airport transfers: Book your airport transfers direct online when you book your tour or activity.
– If you want to share the transfer with other passengers as a “shared transfer”, please indicate that you want a shared transfer when completing your online booking form. In that case, you have an even better price of transfer that we will calculate at the end of your payment.
If there is an insufficient number of participants during your reservation and you want to book a “shared transfer” and pay a deposit, but in the meantime, other people also booked then, the basic price will be calculated. Just give us a notification when booking for this “shared transfer” option.

Where exactly do you want to stay, you will get details when we have signed a contract with your accommodation. E.g. we do so because instead of your chosen hotel of 5 stars, you may get 5 stars with perhaps a better location, facilities or other even if it is the same hotel class. You can book a transfer to the city, where you have accommodation, then your name and address will be your accommodation but no later than 7 days before departure.

If you book with us your transfer to the hotel/accommodation then you can also get the best terms and price as we give you a discount on transfer if several travellers share the transfer.
Change and Cancellation Policy

All changes are subject to availability and a price increase or equivalent administrative charge imposed on the holder of the credit card used during the booking process.

• The addresses or location on the voucher are the places where you will be picked up and left.

Montenegro Adventure also reserves the right not to offer the tour if the ordered service differs too much from the service booked at the first opportunity. Changes made less than 48 hours before scheduled departure time are not allowed unless the transfer provider or destination requires otherwise.
Cancellation:
The passenger is entitled to cancel the tour and is required to inform the Montenegro Adventure. Cancellation can be made on our website or by e-mail: booking@montenegroadventure.travel. The date of the written cancellation is the basis for calculating the fee, according to the General Terms and Conditions of the Montenegro Adventure, expressed as a percentage of the total price, if it’s not otherwise stated, as follows:

  • 5% if the tour is cancelled up to 45 days before the start of the trip (early cancellation)
  • 10% if the tour is cancelled for one month, ie 30 days before the trip starts
  • 20% if the tour is cancelled 29 – 21 days before the start of the trip
  • 40% if the tour is cancelled 20 – 15 days before the start of the trip
  • 80% if the tour is cancelled 14 – 10 days before the start of the trip
  • 90% if the tour is cancelled 9 – 6 days before the start of the trip
  • 100% if cancelled 5 to 0 days before the start of the tour or during the tour

The passenger pays only the incurred costs to the Organizer if he cancelled due to circumstances that he could not avoid or eliminate: illness or death of the passenger or spouse and children, first hereditary relatives, brother or sister, or a call for the military exercise of passengers and elementary accidents are officially declared. For these cases, the passenger is required to submit written evidence to the Organizer.

In this case, the passenger is obliged to give written confirmation to the Organizer of the reason for cancellation issued by the competent authorities within 5 days. If the person who cancelled the tour provides a suitable replacement or the organizer finds a replacement the person is obliged to pay only the costs of the Organizer. If the tour is missed due to delays or missing arrival, refunds will not be issued.

Additional information & Prices

– Price is based on group 4 – 8 participants (adults) and per person, as well as according to the suggested date of a multi-day tour.
– To realize this tour must be at least 4 people (adults), ie for the 1 – 3 people it’s possible to organize as a “private tour” (for the price of 4 people or contact us).
– If there is an insufficient number of participants during your reservation and you want to book a “private tour” and pay a deposit, but in the meantime, other people also booked then, the basic price will be calculated. Just give us a notification when booking for this “basic” option.
– The tour duration can be customized to your needs as a “mini-break” 4 days / 2, 3 or 4 nights, 5-6 days / 4, 5 or 6 nights, 8 days / 7 or 8 nights, 10 days / 9, 10 or 11 nights or according to your wishes for a longer period. Contact us to customize to your needs.

Participants & Children

• Participants on the tour are individuals or small groups of mixed nationalities.
• Children with parents or guardians must be 2-12 years.
   Children under 2 years can’t participate in activities on this tour.
   If you are under 18 you will need parental permission, unless you travel in the company of an adult (18 years of age or older).

Gratuity (Tip, Bakhshish): Your Montenegro Adventure crew never expect to tip themselves and will not request any. However, if you are pleased with our staff who have served you, and you still want to give a tip, our staff will appreciate it and be grateful for your gesture.

Clothes: Make sure you wear comfortable clothes and shoes for the tour. A hat or cap, sunscreen, and appropriate sun protection clothing is required during warmer months. A small umbrella or raincoat for rain will be useful in case of light rain. The weather in the mountains of Montenegro can be very unpredictable (warmer clothing for months other than summer). Please prepare for various weather conditions.

Shopping: Dubrovnik – When it comes to shopping, the Old Town – the main street Stradun – is excellent if you’re looking for little souvenirs to take home for yourself or that special someone. Merkante and DOC shopping centres take care of more requirements such as toys, clothes, shoes, books and other holiday necessities.
Montenegro: Budva – Except for shopping in the old town, TQ Plaza is just a one-minute walk from the coast. The Shopping Center offer brands of the world and you can shop for the best cosmetics, accessories, toys and the like. The Mall, in the city of Podgorica, has two aspects to it – the Green Bazaar and a shopping mall. This mall is a blend of traditional and modern-day shopping and is huge. Delta city Shopping Centre has the best of everything and has some amazing fashion stores, boutiques, restaurants, and cafes.
