If there’s something you’d love to do in Sarajevo, today is the day for it. Visit Sarajevo and not take a walk over the Baščaršija – not drink water from the famous Sebilj fountain, not wander around the narrow streets with a lot of coffee and craft shops – it is like you haven’t been in Sarajevo! It is the main square and the striking symbol of the town.
Baščaršija of course was built by the Ottomans in the 16th century and is exemplary of typical Islamic architecture, Ottoman-style. In the Baščaršija is its čaršija (market), and thanks to the historic Ottoman architecture čaršija has a distinctly eastern feel with plenty of traditional market stalls, mosques, restaurants, and other historic buildings. The market has a lot of stalls selling copper items, painted plates, rugs, and souvenirs, and gives to tourists a good insight into a traditional Bosnian way of life.
Sarajevo is the political, financial, educational, social, and cultural centre of Bosnia and Herzegovina and a prominent centre of culture in the Balkans, with region-wide influence in entertainment, media, fashion, and the arts. It lies in the narrow valley of the Miljacka River at the foot of Mount Trebević. It is one of only a few major European cities to have a mosque, Catholic church, Orthodox church, and synagogue within the same neighbourhood. Sarajevo hosted the 1984 Winter Olympics, which was the largest and most interesting sport event ever held in former Yugoslavia.

Breakfast. In the morning you have the opportunity to leisurely, rest, or enjoy one of the most popular optional tours – Explore Sarajevo Tour. With the local tour guide, you will visit all the significant spots of this town. The first stop on this tour will be in front of the Catholic cathedral of Jesus’s Sacred Heart, you will listen to the history and culture of the town. Nearby is located in the City Hall which will amaze you by its architectural style. Also, you will see the Latin bridge whose northern end was the site of the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria by Gavrilo Princip in 1914, which became the casus belli of World War I.
On the way to the famous and the largest mosque in Sarajevo – Gazi – Husrev Bey’s Mosque – the guide will talk about the Jews in the town while passing by the Museum of the Jews of Bosnia and Herzegovina. You will be introduced to Morića Han also known as Caravan-Saraj representing a well-preserved hotel that was built during the Ottoman Empire. Even though it is now turned into a small bazaar with coffee shops, this is a unique ambience worth visiting.
Since Sarajevo was under the control of the Ottomans for more than 400 years, on every corner you can see some buildings from that time. Tašlihan was the third built Caravan-Saray, whose remains preserved to this day. You will see the famous Hotel Europe, Gazi-Husrev Beys Bezistan – Bazaar, and be amazed by their stories. One more stop will be in front of the Statue of Multicultural Man, located in the Square of Alija Izetbegović (First president of the country), right near one of the biggest Orthodox Churches in the Balkans. Besides the church and the sculpture, the square is also specific because of chess players, mostly retired people. The last point of this walking tour is a visit to Eternal flame – a memorial to the military and civilian victims of the Second World War in Sarajevo. The flames never stop burning which makes this monument a unique piece of art, idea, and dedication.

Explore the Hussein Pasha Mosque, built 1569 years with a 42 -meter high minaret and extraordinary exterior and interior design is one of the most beautiful Islamic buildings in the Balkans. Uncover the orthodox monastery of the Holy Trinity, dating from the late fifteenth and early 16th century, though its existence is related to the powerful Serbian Nemanjic dynasty.
Homeland Museum in Pljevlja after its status is a complex type of museum, with a collection of nearly five thousand museum units. It organizes its activities through five departments – The historical department, the Archaeological Department, the Ethno department, Cultural-Historical department. The most significant piece is a Diatreta from the Roman Period, one of five totally preserved glass goblets in the world!
After visiting Homeland museum Pljevlja, we drive to the village Komini in the immediate vicinity of Pljevlja. There is located a large part of the unexplored Roman city, which has not been identified with the full name of the name. In literature we meet it as Municipium S …, and it existed between the 1st and 4th centuries.
After exploring the outskirts near village Komini, the well-deserved lunch is followed in the national restaurant giving one of the amazing views on the hills and villages, which offer delicious food with specialities of the domestic cuisine and local drinks like “Rakija”. Vegetarian option is available, please advise at time of booking if required.
After lunch, we are back to the city for visiting other natural, cultural and historical treasures provided by this city. From the recent history of Pljevlja, the monument on the elevation of Stražica, with an obelisk high of 40 meters stands out with its beauty. It is a monument dedicated to the dead Partisan fighters-heroes in the famous Battle of Pljevlja that took place on December 1st, 1941.
We visit one more, from the old monuments of culture in the Pljevlja area, Monastery of the Holy Trinity from the 15th century, located in the immediate vicinity of Pljevlja, in a bay surrounded by forests. The monastery is reaching the path above the Milet Bašta (Peoples Garden), a famous hospitality and recreation park.
Vodice City Park is one of the most attractive places in Pljevlja. It was founded in Čitluk, the former estate of the monastery of the Holy Trinity. Surrounded by forests, with beautiful walking trails, and enjoying nature. The park is divided into two parts by the river Breznica, where two artificial lakes and ponds were built.

After a morning coffee and delicious breakfast, about nine o’clock, we drive to Žabljak and Durmitor with a journey through the Canyon Tara to Durmitor and Blake Lake. Tara River Canyon takes pride in being the deepest canyon in Europe and after the Grand Canyon in the USA, the second deepest in the world. Also, the famous Đurđevića Tara Bridge, an architectural masterpiece with five arches 172 meters above this incredible and unique river.
This day you can select one of the optional activities in our offer. We recommend rafting on the Tara River in the beautiful green canyon with untouched wild nature. In order to maximize your experience, also we recommend an Extreme Zipline across the Tara canyon. So take both!
After visiting the bridge, we travel to Žabljak and Durmitor toward Black Lake to explore one of the most famous “mountain eyes” glacial lakes of Durmitor.
Black Lake is located at an altitude of 1416 meters and surrounded by a dense forest of black Durmitor pine trees. This is one of the most beautiful lakes in Montenegro and a popular destination for recreation and hiking. The lake itself is about 3.5km and takes around an hour to walk around and it looks just like it does in the photographs – absolutely gorgeous. Return to our hotel and free time.

After a delicious breakfast, at about nine o’clock we drive to visit Meanders of the river Ćehotina (meandering flow of the river) on Lake Otilovići, located 20 kilometres from the town near the main road Pljevlja – Vrulja. Only local fishermen and locals of the surrounding villages knew about this place, who kept this beauty to themselves for a long time.
On Lookout (Vidikovac), near the cliff, there is a timber shelter with a table and benches, next to a hundred-year-old crooked pine tree, which makes the view more beautiful, and complete with a protective fence for a safer stay for visitors. The Lookout has become one of the leading natural tourist offers of the city.
From The Lookout point, there is a beautiful view of the meanders that Ćehotina has carved through the rocky areas for years. An impressive sight that leaves no one indifferent and remains in the memory of all who visit this place long hidden from the public eye.
Also, we visit the remains of one fortress – the town from the 15th century, Koznik, as well as a significant number of tombs-gravestones, testify of the medieval significance of this region. After visiting Koznik, return to our hotel and free time afternoon.

Voucher:
The customer is supposed to show either a paper or an e-Voucher to our staff or tour guide at the start of the tour.
Change:
All changes are subject to availability and a price increase or equivalent administrative charge imposed during the booking process.

• The addresses or location on the voucher are the places where you will be picked up and left. Montenegro Adventure also reserves the right not to offer the tour if the ordered service differs too much from the service booked at the first opportunity. Changes made less than 7 days before the scheduled departure time are not allowed unless the transfer provider or destination requires otherwise.
Cancellation:
The partner is entitled to cancel the tour and is required to inform the Montenegro Adventure. Cancellation can be made on our website or by e-mail: booking@montenegroadventure.travel. The date of the written cancellation is the basis for calculating the fee, according to the General Terms and Conditions of the Montenegro Adventure, expressed as a percentage of the total price, if it’s not otherwise stated, as follows:
• Any booking cancelled more than 61 days prior to arrival date pays a 10% fee.
• Bookings cancelled between 60 and 30 days of arrival date pay a 25% cancellation fee.
• Bookings cancelled between 29 and 12 days of arrival date pay a 50% cancellation fee.
• Bookings cancelled less than 11 days from arrival date pay a 100% cancellation fee.
We advise all clients to take out cancellation insurance.

SUGGESTED PACKING LIST: International driving license, credit card, extra cash – euro € (currency), road maps (google maps eg) and guidebook, camera (possibly extra batteries and memory card), sunblock, sunglasses, sun hat or cap, swimwear and towel, sandals, waterproof bag (for your phone or camera), water bottle, smaller hiking backpack (possibly. trekking boots, hiking pants, hiking poles, rain poncho, hat, sweater, thermals, warm socks, glove), flashlight/torch, snorkelling equipment, personal first aid kit (possibly. hand sanitiser, mask).
CLOTHES: Make sure you wear comfortable clothes and shoes for the tour. A hat or cap, sunscreen, and appropriate sun protection clothing is required during warmer months. A small umbrella or raincoat for rain will be useful in case of light rain. The weather in the mountains of Montenegro can be very unpredictable (warmer clothing for months other than summer). Please prepare for various weather conditions.
DON’T FORGET THE ESSENTIALS: Original passport, visa (if applicable), insurance card, personal medications, and other essentials you need during your stay.

The price indicated is per person either sharing a family apartment/room.
– Price is based on a family (or group) of 4 participants, and per person, as well as according to the suggested date of the multi-day tour.

– Adults is always from 12 years (excluding separate day-tours or activities).
– Children aged 2-12: for day-tours or activities, different discounts are depending on the program and the other included things in the price, and most often it is 5-25%.
*For some activities such as kayaking, paragliding, etc. there is no discount for children 2-12 years, and most of our activities are for children from 7 years. Example: The age limits for practising ie canyoning – the lower limit is about 8 years, depending on the constitution of the child.
