Itinerary

DAY 1Arrival and welcome meeting

The first day of this gorgeous tour is simply the day of arrival at airport Tivat or Podgorica without any organized activities. You get time to relax and see some of the sights you might want to add to your tour.

If you arrive early, we can book you some activities from our optional activities on this day or go into the city and see some of the sites that make Ulcinj popular the country over.

Private transfers can be a very good economical alternative to public transport in Montenegro, in several cases equal to the cost of public transportation in the EU. You can book private transfers from/to airports and to/from the hotel in Ulcinj on our website.

DAY 2Old Town Ulcinj & Sailor’s Mosque

After breakfast at 9 o’clock, we will visit The Old Town in Ulcinj which is one of the oldest architectural and urban units on the Adriatic. The Old Town, with its Illyrian walls, Citadel, a complex of the narrow streets, markets, and squares, is a cultural-historical monument of immense importance. After the sightseeing of the old town, we continue our walk towards the town’s square and the city beach to a place called Pristan.

The Mosque at Pristan was built by the Ibrahim-paša (pasha) Bušatlija who was badly wounded in the battle, and in order to thank God, he built a mosque. He dedicated it to the Ulcinj seamen who contributed greatly to the success and wealth of his family, and therefore, in the people, it is called the Sailors’ Mosque.

After we have toured the mosque, the walk continues along the coast to the famous Pine forest. In this beautiful area, there is the famous “Women’s Beach” with its sulfur sources, which are a true elixir for non-fertile women. The smell of the sea and pine trees will make your atmosphere unique.

DAY 3Selimija Mosque and Islamic Center - Bar

After breakfast and no later than 8 o’clock we drive to the port town of Bar and Old Town Bar which is the largest urban agglomeration among the ruins in Montenegro. The cultural centre and the mosque belong to a unique mosque complex. The mosque is named after Selimi, in memory of the first built mosque in the Old Town, from which there are preserved foundations today.

The two minarets are 42 meters high and The Selimija Mosque is seen from almost every part of the Old Bar. Apart from the prayer space, there is a large number of contents in the Islamic Cultural Center. On the left-wing of the centre, there is a restaurant with oriental cuisine, apartments for guests, Shariah wedding hall, a simultaneous translation room, a boutique with religious equipment.

After visiting the Old Bar we drive back towards Ulcinj and visit the place Mirovica, five kilometres from Bar to find Stara Maslina (Old Olive Tree), a symbol of the city of Bar. This is one of the oldest olive trees in the world, over 2,000 years old! A ring of white stone protects the tree’s space. Legend has it that the Mirovica named so, as feuding families would come under the olive tree to make peace (mir) – the root of the name meaning peace.

During the return journey, we make some short breaks for photography as well as for lunch. In late afternoon free time in Ulcinj.

DAY 4Travel to Pljevlja & Visit Podgorica and Canyons

After breakfast at 9 o’clock, we leave Ulcinj and the coast and drive north to town Pljevlja. On our journey, we’ll enjoy the view of Skadar Lake and its surroundings, discover Podgorica as well as the Morača and Tara canyons, which will delight you. Experience a day through canyons Morača and Tara in the National Park Durmitor in northern Montenegro.

The Morača canyon is one of the most beautiful canyons, a river that spring in northern Montenegro at the foot of the mountain Rzač, which flows 113 km from north to south and empties into the Skadar Lake.

The Tara river canyon takes a proud the second-longest in the world after the Grand Canyon in the USA and Europe´s longest canyon. This breathtaking canyon is 1330 m deep and about 80 km long, even in the UNESCO-s world heritage.

You will also get to enjoy the amazing view from the Đurđevića Tara bridge with the opportunity to see several cultural and historical treasures. There are no descriptions that convey the natural beauty, attractiveness and all positive that this amazing tour offers, it must be seen and experienced.

DAY 5City Tour Pljevlja & Husein Pasha Mosque

After breakfast at 9 o’clock, we’ll visit the ancient cultural times in Pljevlja with cultural-historical monuments and the most important monuments of the medieval, Hussein Pasha Mosque. The beautiful Hussein Pasha Mosque is a top-notch work of Oriental construction. Her minarets stand 42 meters high are held as the most beautiful religious monument of Muslims in Montenegro.

We’ll also visit St. Trojica (three male), the old part of the city, the Sahat Tower and the Mosque of Gazi Hussein-Pasha Boljanić, built-in 1562.

Pljevlja is known for its culture and tradition as a city of Sevdah (music) and enjoyment (Merak) and culinary specialities, and specifically earmark track on the city’s famous orchestra Pljevaljski Tamburaši.

DAY 6The sightseeing tour of Petnjica

After breakfast and no later than 8 o’clock we drive towards the town Bijelo Polje and visit village Petnjica. The mosque in Petnjica was built in the 16th century, the only three-story building of this type in the region. Its appearance today differs considerably from its original appearance.
The size of the building was smaller, the first floor was made of stone and the other was made of wood. Her minaret out of the tree. The mosque in Petnjica is under the protection of the Institute for the Protection of Cultural Monuments.

Besides the tradition, historical heritage and natural beauties, Petnjica’s villages provide diverse possibilities with various and unique contents to the visitors all year round. The Radmanska gulch (”Radmanska klisura”) treasures many secrets, hidden in numerous caves, grottos, and galleries, which is rich in stalactites, stalagmites, and petrified waterfalls.

For thousands of years, in this locality lies huge, hidden archaeological treasure which is considered to be the richest and most valuable locality of the Neolithic period in Montenegro.

DAY 7The trucks of the Ottomans in Gusinje and Plav

After breakfast at 8 o’clock, we drive towards Plav. Redžepagić’s Tower, located in the centre of Plava to explore this historical monument built in 1671 by Hasan beg Redžepagić.

The Tower first had two floors with solid stone walls, a thickness of more than one meter, a guard tower and a loop. Later the third floor was made of wood, called “Čardak” (Turkish). On the sides are visible wooden structures – “erkeri”. The dimensions of the Tower are 7 m to 8 m. At the top of the Tower, it was possible to get in by way of an interior staircase, or of the outside entryway, which was used only during the day, so that during the night the tower would remain inaccessible.

Afterwards, we visit the Old Mosque, or as it is still called in this city, the Čaršijskaa mosque is the oldest mosque in the Plav-Gusinje region and the most famous of the four mosques in this city. After the arrival of the Turks in these parts, for the needs of the army, a fortress complex called Dizdarev Grad was built, named after Zejnel-beg Dizdar, the founder of the fort. The establishment consisted of rooms for the accommodation of soldiers, supplies, and weapons, libraries and other buildings.

We’ll also visit the Mosque in Gusinje as well as famous Alipaša’s sources and enjoy the local cuisine at one of the restaurants of this mountain region.

Change and Cancellation Policy

All changes are subject to availability and a price increase or equivalent administrative charge imposed during the booking process.

• The addresses or locations on the voucher are the places where you will be picked up and left.

Montenegro Adventure also reserves the right not to offer the tour if the ordered service differs too much from the service booked at the first opportunity. Changes made less than 7 days before the scheduled departure time are not allowed unless the transfer provider or destination requires otherwise.

Cancellation:
The partner is entitled to cancel the tour and is required to inform the Montenegro Adventure. Cancellation can be made on our website or by e-mail: booking@montenegroadventure.travel. The date of the written cancellation is the basis for calculating the fee, according to the General Terms and Conditions of the Montenegro Adventure, expressed as a percentage of the total price.

if it’s not otherwise stated, the following cancellation rules apply:

• Any booking cancelled more than 61 days prior to arrival date pays a 10% fee.
• Bookings cancelled between 60 and 30 days of arrival date pay a 25% cancellation fee.
• Bookings cancelled between 29 and 12 days of arrival date pay a 50% cancellation fee.
• Bookings cancelled less than 11 days from arrival date pay a 100% cancellation fee.

We advise all clients to take out cancellation insurance.

RELEASE:
It is recommended to book as early as possible to guarantee availability – or at least seven days before departure for a tour.

Note: We require a minimum of 3 people to confirm this trip.
If a trip is not confirmed yet, you can register on the waiting list and will be notified when the trip is officially confirmed, with guaranteed departure. We recommend not making final travel arrangements until your trip meets the minimum number of guests and is confirmed.

In most cases, if a trip does not reach the minimum number of guests, you may choose to transfer to another trip date or another trip, be refunded your payments in full, or you may have the choice to pay a supplemental fee to run the trip with fewer guests. We make the final determination for these trips 30 days before the departure date.

  • Children with parents or guardians must be 2-12 years.
    Children under 7 years can’t participate in activities planned on this tour (see below children’s minimum age).

If you are under 18 you will need parental permission, unless you travel in the company of an adult (18 years of age or older).

Children’s minimum age:

Please, be sure to check in the travel program if the child’s age is limited. In most activities we offer, the minimum age for children is 7 years, but we also have tours where the age of the child is not limited.

However, children under 7 years (0-6 years) cannot do all the activities, and parents must always supervise them. If there is a possibility, we can arrange childcare if parents want to leave their younger children to stay with our staff.

The minimum age for Rafting, Canyoning, Walking or Trekking – child older than 7 years. Paragliding, Horseback riding and Quad (ATV) would be 10 years. The minimum age for Kayak, SUP and Rock Climbing is 12 years.

TIPPING (Gratuity, Bakhshish): Please note that tipping is customary in Montenegro since a service charge is not added to the bill for example meals at restaurants, taxi rides, and so on. However, a modest tip is always appreciated when left as a thank you to staff who have served you, for exceptional service on a guided tour or at a restaurant, for example. The staff will appreciate it and be grateful for your gesture.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: This is an easy/moderate difficult tour, with a few long sightseeing tours combined with wine tasting, multi-sport activities such as mountain, river rafting, and/or zip-lining. We recommend you be physically fit for the trip.
SUGGESTED PACKING LIST: Credit card, extra cash – euro € (currency), camera (possibly extra batteries and memory card), sunblock, sunglasses, sun hat or cap, swimwear and towel, sandals, waterproof bag (for your phone or camera), water bottle, smaller rucksack, flashlight/torch, personal first aid kit (possibly. hand sanitiser, mask).

CLOTHES: Make sure you wear comfortable clothes and shoes for the tour. A hat or cap, sunscreen, and appropriate sun protection clothing is required during warmer months. A small umbrella or raincoat for rain will be useful in case of light rain. The weather in the mountains of Montenegro can be very unpredictable (warmer clothing for months other than summer). Please prepare for various weather conditions.
DON’T FORGET THE ESSENTIALS: Original passport, Certificate that you have been Covid 19 vaccinated, insurance card, personal medications, and other essentials you need during your stay.

– The price indicated is per person either sharing a double room.

If you are travelling alone, when booking you may note the “double room option” and we will allocate you to share with another single traveller of the same sex. Note that this option is sometimes unavailable. You will be charged a supplement if you are travelling by yourself and want a single room.

 – The price is based on the packages of how many people participate and per person, as well as according to the suggested date of the tour.
