A visit to Mount Bjelasica is one of the best ways to experience the Montenegrin mountains. A visit to some of the places down at the Bjelasica and Biogradska Gora will give you a unique insight into Montenegrin nature. In this region, you will also have time to enjoy the peaceful life in rustic mountain’s homestay (Katun) and explore the famous Biogradska Gora, one of the last rainforests in Europe.
A mountain has a volcanic origin and as a result of that is a relief with many mild, stratified surfaces where its highest peaks are rounded and grassy, without sharp rocks and easily accessible. Due to this composition, Bjelasica is abundant with numerous springs, watercourses and lakes. With a large number of non-transparent green forage, the belt represents an important resource for livestock development.

It is famous for its beautiful nature enriched with unusual herbs, plants and different animal species.
Experience life on the mountain Bjelasica in some of the most genuine rustic places to stay (“katuns”), like Eco Katun Vranjak and Katun Goleš. Taste traditional dishes of Montenegrin local cuisine – cheese, smoked ham (pršut), cheese cream (kajmak), warm homemade buns, kačamak, cicvara or polenta, grilled lamb and dishes baked under the hearth (sać)… Try local homemade drinks like plum brandy and blueberry juice.
