Numerous civilizations have left their traces in Boka Bay, especially in the old town of Kotor and the town of Perast and that was the reason UNESCO put it under protection in 1978.

What to Expect

Our first sightseeing will be Old town Kotor, located at the very end of Boka bay. During the guided walking tour through the town, you will walk over the Square of Arms, Square of Flour, Square of Saint Tryphon where is the Cathedral of Saint Tryphon, Square of Churches, Square of Salade etc.
Visiting the Maritime Museum you will be introduced to 10 centuries-long maritime histories while the Museum of cats will be the perfect spot for cat lovers!City and bay of Perast in Montenegro Prepare for a fantastic day trip to Boka bay!

We will have a short boat ride to the island “Our Lady of the Rocks” for a visit to the church and museum.
During a visit to the Blue Cave, you will have the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful blue reflection. Along the way, you will pass the whole World Heritage Bay of Kotor before you finally reach the open sea. The old fort of Mamula island, a notorious former prison during the reign of the Austro-Hungary empire, located on a deserted island near the mouth of the bay, takes us to your next stop.

Itinerary

09:00Welcome meeting and departure

We’ll meet about 10 minutes before departing time at the location after the program or agreement in the centre of Tivat for a “welcome meeting”.

We drive from Tivat, around 9 o’clock in the morning. Along the guided tour, you will enjoy the beauties of environment.

09:15Visit to Kotor Old town

There are numerous palaces that belonged to the famous noble families from Kotor, as well as the Clock Tower from the 16th century, in front of which is placed the medieval column of shames. Once you enter the Old town through the Sea Gate, the old Clock Tower will welcome you and tell you that you are right on time to explore the charming streets and squares of this wealthy town!Clock tower in Kotor old town in Montenegro Passing by the palaces of the noble families, you will feel the spirit of Venetian culture and architecture. Suddenly the Cathedral of Saint Tryphon, patron and protector of Kotor, will appear in front of you and amaze you with its eternal beauty. Only a few steps further there is the Maritime Museum, home of the long naval history and tradition of Kotor and the whole of Boka bay.

Enjoy a cup of coffee on the main square or visit some museums and attractions on your own, even visit Greenmarket near the Sea gate, or climb to the church “Our Lady of Remedy” in order to catch a fantastic panoramic view of the bay and Kotor Old town!

12:00 Boka bay's cruise depart

The cruise begins from a pier at Kotor, where we continue along the coast toward the Blue Cave – one of the most attractive in a series of caves located on the Lustica peninsula, situated between the bay Zlatna Luka (Golden Harbor) and cape Mokra Gora (Wet Mountain). It is about 1 hour ride from Kotor. The possibility of swimming in the Blue Cave if the conditions are good.

We visit “Mamula Island Hotel”, the old fort of Mamula island, a notorious former prison during the reign of the Austro-Hungary empire, located on a deserted island near the mouth of the bay, takes us to your next stop. Mamula is an uninhabited island at the entrance to the Bay of Kotor, a circular shape, 200 m in diameter, covered with low vegetation, with a beach and a pier on the north side. The coast is rocky, and in some places, it is concreted. Here, the sea is very deep and clean, which makes fans of underwater swimming very fond of visiting this place. The beach can be reached by sea only.

We leave Mamula Island, and we cruise across the fjord to another site of the bay, to Perast and the gorgeous ”Church of Our Lady of the Rock”. When we get closer to Perast, in the bay you will see two islands which seem to swim on the sea surface, unrealistic acting even to those who have watched them before, Our Lady of the Rocks (Gospa od Škrpjela) and St. George (Sveti Đorđe) Island.

According to a legend, these fishermen after the shipwreck found on a sea rock an icon of the Holy Mother of God with Christ and vowed that right on that spot where the icon was found they will build a church, which will be dedicated to this icon of the Holy Mother of God, protector of fishermen and sailors. Be sure to wear appropriate clothing for the visit to the church.

From there, after lunch, you start your cruise back to Kotor Port with a fantastic experience of a bay cruise from Kotor.

About Boarding and Arrival Locations

– About hotel guests: According to the planned program for Pick-Up and Drop-Off locations and times. If agreed to Pick-Up and Drop-Off Service from the hotel, then a boarding location will be the parking lot outside the hotel, or in front of the hotel at the agreed time specified in the voucher, or by agreement.
– About other guests: If you come on your own, in your car or bus, you will be at the meeting point at least 10-15 minutes before the “welcome meeting“ and departure. Please, check our website or travel agency beforehand for the correct locations and times.
Note: If you can’t find transportation to get to us, we will be happy to organize transportation (dependent on availability).

Booking confirmation & Voucher

– Please confirm your booking in accordance with terms and conditions, or contact the travel agency. Confirm booking within 7 days of the booking date by paying a 30% deposit, and the rest based on a payment plan. Please, confirm the booking immediately during the booking process if it’s less than 7 days before the planned departure for this day tour.

NOTEIf you don’t confirm your booking within the stipulated period, your booking will be cancelled automatically. In that case, a new booking must be made, but then we don’t guarantee availability.
– Bookings that are made online can be confirmed using My Account. My Account includes all information, you’ll be able to track the confirmation, track your payment status, and your meeting point location and you can also rate the day tour after you finished it.
Note: Bookings made by phone cannot be checked from My Account.

All of our customers who are booking with Montenegro Adventure supply useful material to ensure a worry-free, yet adventurous tour. Upon receipt of full payment, the customer receives an e-Voucher with all material delivered by e-mail which can be printed as PDFs or redeemed on mobile.

This e-Voucher includes:
• A detailed itinerary
• Copies of your activity vouchers and invoices
• A detailed map with your route and day tour marked

Voucher:
The customer is supposed to show either a paper or an e-Voucher to our staff or tour guide at the start of the tour.

Change and Cancellation Policy

Change:
All changes are subject to availability and a price increase or equivalent administrative charge imposed during the booking process.

  • For any type of change, please contact our Customer Center directly.
  • The addresses or locations on the voucher are the places where you will be picked up and left.

Montenegro Adventure also reserves the right not to offer the tour if the ordered service differs too much from the service booked at the first opportunity. Changes made less than 7 days before the scheduled departure time are not allowed unless the transfer provider or destination requires otherwise.

Cancellation Policy:
The passenger is entitled to cancel the day tour and is required to inform the organizer. Cancellation can be made directly on the website, or in writing including cancellation by e-mail: booking@montenegroadventure.travel. The date of the written cancellation is the basis for calculating the fee, according to the law of the Organizer, expressed as a percentage of the total price, if the program is not otherwise stated, as follows:

  • no cancellation fee if cancelled at least 7 days before the scheduled departure
  •  50% if cancelled 6 – 3 days before the scheduled departure
  •  100% if cancelled within 48 hours before the scheduled departure

Note: If day tour is missed due to delays or missing arrival, refunds will not be issued

We advise all clients to take out cancellation insurance.

RELEASE:
It is recommended to book as early as possible to guarantee availability – or at least seven days before departure for a day tour.

  • If there is an insufficient number of participants during your reservation and you want to book a “private day tour” and pay a deposit, but in the meantime, other people also booked then, the basic price will be calculated. Just give us a notification when booking for this “basic” option.

Good to Know

TIPPING (Gratuity, Bakhshish): Please note that tipping is customary in Montenegro since a service charge is not added to the bill for example meals at restaurants, guide/driver, and so on. However, a modest tip is always appreciated when left as a thank you to staff who have served you, for exceptional service on a guided tour or at a restaurant, for example. The staff will appreciate it and be grateful for your gesture.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: This is an easy/moderate difficult day tour, with a few long sightseeing combined with activities such as walking. We recommend you be physically fit for the trip.
SUGGESTED PACKING LIST: Credit card, extra cash – euro € (currency), camera (possibly extra batteries and memory card), sunblock, sunglasses, sun hat or cap, water bottle, smaller rucksack, flashlight/torch, personal first aid kit (possibly. hand sanitiser, mask).

CLOTHES: Make sure you wear comfortable clothes and shoes for the day tour. A hat or cap, sunscreen, and appropriate sun protection clothing are required during warmer months. A small umbrella or raincoat for rain will be useful in case of light rain. The weather in the mountains of Montenegro can be very unpredictable (warmer clothing for months other than summer). Please prepare for various weather conditions.
DON’T FORGET THE ESSENTIALS: ID or original passport, Certificate that you have been Covid 19 vaccinated, personal medications, and other essentials you need during your day tour.

– The price is based on the packages of how many people participate, and per person, as well as according to the suggested date of the day tour.
