Herceg Novi is known for its mimosa trees and stairs. Tropical flora abound in Herceg Novi. In late January, the town is filled with the sweet scent of yellow and green mimosas, which are celebrated at the Praznik Mimosa event. Because of its numerous bright days, it’s called “The City of the Sun.”

The main attraction in Herceg Novi is Old Town (Stari Grad). It features streets bordered with Sahat–Kula (1667) and Kanli–Kula (1483) structures. This famous town’s cultural history includes Forte Mare (1687) and Spanjola (1538). This lovely town has various summer festivities to promote tourist attractions.

According to the itinerary
Herceg Novi’s Old Town is less than Kotor’s, but it’s just as charming. The alleyways are leisurely and unhurried, with charming courtyards, tiny squares, meandering cobblestoned lanes, abundant summer blooms, and charming little businesses. Mare Fortress and Kanli Kula, a huge Ottoman tower and bayside amphitheatre, are also worth visiting.

After seeing the ancient town, visit Savina Monastery for more bay and sea views. Vineyards and cellar testing at Savina Monastery.

A one-hour guided walking tour of Herceg Novi, one of the oldest Adriatic cities, will be given. Surrounded by beautiful Mediterranean vegetation, the town is one of Montenegro’s most gorgeous. Mimosa trees and several stairways define Herceg Novi. The city is known as “The City of the Sun” because of its year-round sunshine.

Forte Mare and Kanli Kula, known as the “bloody tower,” were prisons built in the 16th century during the Turkish rule of Herceg Novi. The pedestrian section of Ulica Njegoševa, surrounded by 19th-century houses and paved with Dubrovnik-like marble, is ideal for discovering Herceg Novi’s old town. At the end of the street, Nikola Ðurković Square features cafés and the Clock Tower from 1667, located above the city entrance; steps lead to it.
Savina Monastery has a rich history and is known as one of the bay’s finest Orthodox church buildings. Three churches make it up. The most prominent and expansive of these structures is a church that honours the Virgin Mary‘s Dormition.

Once you have completed your guided tours of the Savina Monastery and the Old Town of Herceg Novi, you will next head to the Savina Winery for an experience that includes wine tasting.

Savina Winery, which includes a wine tasting, explains grape-growing and winemaking in lush Mediterranean and wooded surrounding areas. After viewing Savina Winery, enjoy Rose, Chardonnay, and Cabernet Sauvignon, as well as a wider range of local, handmade canapes and tapas, olive oil from the estate’s olive fields, and Grappa the absorption of nutrients. You will also detect the indigenous white variety, Žižak (zhizhak).

NOTE: Once you’ve tasted the wine at the vineyard, you may purchase it.
Return to Tivat after a wonderful wine tasting, with amazing views of Herceg Novi and Boka Bay.
