What to Expect

We drive directly toward our first sightseeing spot, Old Town Kotor, located at the very end of Boka Bay. During the guided walking tour through the town, you will walk over the Square of Arms, Square of Flour, Square of Saint Tryphon, Square of Churches, Square of Salade etc. There are numerous palaces that belonged to the famous noble families from Kotor, as well as the Clock Tower from the 16th century, in front of which is placed the medieval column of shames.

The most striking building in the town is definitely the Cathedral of Saint Tryphon, which impresses all visitors with its history and timeless beauty of more than 1000 years. Visiting the Maritime Museum you will be introduced to 10 centuries-long maritime histories while the Museum of cats will be the perfect spot for cat lovers!City and bay of Perast in MontenegroPrepare for a fantastic day trip to Boka bay!

We continue our trip back, along the scenic road to Perast, the old town of captains and the best-preserved Baroque town on the Adriatic coast. You will be delighted by the lavish palaces as well as the cathedral of Saint Nicholas whose 55m-high bell tower (from 1691) represents the most beautiful example of a detailed type of bell tower with a pyramidal end on the Adriatic.

During the tour, we will have a short boat ride to the island “Our Lady of the Rocks” for a visit to the church and museum. The walls and ceiling of the church are covered with 68 canvases painted by Tripo Kokolj, one of the best known local baroque painters.

Itinerary

06:30Welcome meeting and departure

We’ll meet about 10 minutes before departing time at the location after the program or agreement in Dubrovnik for a “welcome meeting”.

We start from Dubrovnik, around 6:30 in the morning and drive towards Kotor Old Town.

NOTE: The drive from Dubrovnik to Perast is about 2 hours/80 km (to Kotor 0.5 hours/15 km).
Important: Bring your ID card or passport with you, because we are crossing the border between Croatia and Montenegro.

09:00 Sightseeing of Perast & "Our Lady of the Rocks"

After an amazing drive along the scenic road in Boka Bay, we arrive in Perast, where we will have a sightseeing tour to be astonished by the lavish architecture and history. Then, we will have a short boat ride to the artificial island “Our Lady of the Rocks”.

“Our Lady of the Rocks” has been a reliable keeper of the secrets of sailors and local legends for 6 centuries.

You will be impressed by the history and legends, then the paintings covering the walls and ceiling as well as by the fantastic view that opens in front of you!

10:30Visit to Kotor Old town

After sightseeing in Perast, journey to Kotor. Once you enter the Kotor  Old Town through the Sea Gate, the old Clock Tower will welcome you and tell you that you are right on time to explore the charming streets and squares of this wealthy town!Clock tower in Kotor old town in Montenegro

Passing by the palaces of the noble families, you will feel the spirit of Venetian culture and architecture. Suddenly, the Cathedral of Saint Tryphon, patron and protector of Kotor, will appear in front of you and amaze you with its eternal beauty. Only a few steps further, there is the Maritime Museum, home of the long naval history and tradition of Kotor and the whole of Boka Bay.

NOTE: The drive from Perast to Kotor is about 0.5 hours and about 15 km.

After sightseeing, enjoy a Mediterranean lunch at one of the restaurants in the Old Town (not included in the tour price). Or, enjoy a cup of coffee on the main square, visit some museums and attractions on your own, even visit Greenmarket near the Sea Gate, or climb to the church “Our Lady of Remedy” to catch a fantastic panoramic view of the bay and Kotor Old Town!

Kotor Cable Car
One of the most beautiful bays in the world, the Bay of Kotor, is connected to Lovćen National Park via the Kotor Cable Car. Our guests can experience an amazing 11-minute cable car ride that lifts them to 1,316 meters above sea level. The National Park offers a variety of sports and leisure activities, a restaurant with an amazing view, and entertaining and cultural attractions in addition to its beautiful views.

Boka Bay Speed Boat Tour with Blue Cave: A boat tour to the jewel of the Adriatic, Blue Cave (Plava špilja), where you can take a dip and take photos. Then, as we are going to Žanjice Beach, you can enjoy the panoramic view of Mamula Island.  You visit Submarine Tunel and the island “Our Lady of the Rocks” for a visit to the church and museum.

About Boarding and Arrival Locations

– About hotel guests: According to the planned program for Pick-Up and Drop-Off locations and times. If agreed to Pick-Up and Drop-Off Service from the hotel, then a boarding location will be parking lot outside the hotel, or in front of the hotel at the agreed time specified in the voucher, or by agreement.
– About other guests: If you come on your own, in your car or bus, you will be at the meeting point at least 10-15 minutes before the “welcome meeting“ and departure. Please, check our website or travel agency beforehand for the correct locations and times.
Note: If you can’t find transportation to get to us, we will be happy to organize transportation (dependent on availability).

– There are 2 baby/child seat types: 0-18 kg and 18-36 kg

– It’s possible that the client brings their own car seat(s). In most cases, the baby/infant travels (eg plane) in a baby/child/booster car seat, and we also recommend that use it in a car/minibus. 

Booking confirmation & Voucher

– Please confirm your booking in accordance with terms and conditions, or contact the travel agency. Confirm booking within 7 days of the booking date by paying a 30% deposit, and the rest based on a payment plan. Please, confirm the booking immediately during the booking process if it’s less than 7 days before the planned departure for this day tour.

NOTEIf you don’t confirm your booking within the stipulated period, your booking will be cancelled automatically. In that case, a new booking must be made, but then we don’t guarantee availability.
– Bookings that are made online can be confirmed using My Account. My Account includes all information, you’ll be able to track the confirmation, track your payment status, meeting point location and you can also rate the day tour after you finished it.
Note: Bookings made by phone cannot be checked from My Account.

e-VOUCHER:
All of our customers who are booking with Montenegro Adventure supplies with useful material to ensure a worry-free, yet adventurous tour. Upon receipt of full payment, the customer receives an e-Voucher with all material delivered by e-mail which can be printed as PDFs or redeemed on mobile.

This e-Voucher includes:
• A detailed itinerary
• Copies of your activity vouchers and invoices
• A detailed map with your route and day tour marked

Voucher:
The customer is supposed to show either a paper or an e-Voucher to our staff or tour guide at the start of the tour.

Change and Cancellation Policy

Change:
All changes are subject to availability and a price increase or equivalent administrative charge imposed during the booking process.

  • For any type of change, please contact our Customer Center directly.
  • The addresses or locations on the voucher are the places where you will be picked up and left.

Montenegro Adventure also reserves the right not to offer the tour if the ordered service differs too much from the service booked at the first opportunity. Changes made less than 7 days before the scheduled departure time are not allowed unless the transfer provider or destination requires otherwise.

Cancellation Policy:
The passenger is entitled to cancel the day tour and is required to inform the organizer. Cancellation can be made directly on the website, or in writing including cancellation by e-mail: booking@montenegroadventure.travel. The date of the written cancellation is the basis for calculating the fee, according to the law of the Organizer, expressed as a percentage of the total price, if the program is not otherwise stated, as follows:

  • no cancellation fee if cancelled at least 7 days before the scheduled departure
  •  50% if cancelled 6 – 3 days before the scheduled departure
  •  100% if cancelled within 48 hours before the scheduled departure

Note: If day tour is missed due to delays or missing arrival, refunds will not be issued

We advise all clients to take out cancellation insurance.

RELEASE:
It is recommended to book as early as possible to guarantee availability – or at least seven days before departure for a day tour.

  • If there is an insufficient number of participants during your reservation and you want to book a “private day tour” and pay a deposit, but in the meantime, other people also booked then, the basic price will be calculated. Just give us a notification when booking for this “basic” option.

Good to Know

TIPPING (Gratuity, Bakhshish): Please note that tipping is customary in Montenegro since a service charge is not added to the bill for example meals at restaurants, guide/driver, and so on. However, a modest tip is always appreciated when left as a thank you to staff who have served you, for exceptional service on a guided tour or at a restaurant, for example. The staff will appreciate it and be grateful for your gesture.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: This is an easy/moderate difficult day tour, with a few long sightseeing combined with activities such as walking. We recommend you be physically fit for the trip.
SUGGESTED PACKING LIST: Credit card, extra cash – euro € (currency), camera (possibly extra batteries and memory card), sunblock, sunglasses, sun hat or cap, water bottle, smaller rucksack, flashlight/torch, personal first aid kit (possibly. hand sanitiser, mask).

CLOTHES: Make sure you wear comfortable clothes and shoes for the day tour. A hat or cap, sunscreen, and appropriate sun protection clothing is required during warmer months. A small umbrella or raincoat for rain will be useful in case of light rain. The weather in the mountains of Montenegro can be very unpredictable (warmer clothing for months other than summer). Please prepare for various weather conditions.
DON’T FORGET THE ESSENTIALS: ID or original passport, Certificate that you have been Covid 19 vaccinated, personal medications, and other essentials you need during your day tour.

– The price is based on the packages of how many people participate, and per person, as well as according to the suggested date of the day tour.
