Northern Montenegro contains some of the best mountain climbing in the Balkan peninsula, with a wide array of large and high mountains dotting the landscape. No wonder, because the north of Montenegro is an area of high mountains that is crisscrossed by magnificent canyons like amazing lakes and rivers, whose beauty leaves no one indifferent. What to Expect

If you ask about iconic mountains to climb in Montenegro, Durmitor will probably be one of the firsts to be mentioned. This mountain is worth your effort, because of its unbelievable scenery and views on the Durmitor mountain range. Apart from Durmitor, we have the opportunity to climb the beautiful mountain Bjelasica, as well as on the slopes near the famous canyon of the river Tara. That is why we designed the ideal program for you if you have some climbing experience and you are in good physical condition.

On these rock climbing sites, there are walls with directions suitable for beginners and experienced climbers. The walls are equipped with the safest sports climbing equipment. After all, in your free time, you have the opportunity to complete your adventure with attractive activities, such as rafting, paragliding, canyoning, etc. When not mountain climbing there is a myriad of villages and towns to discover, with many areas particularly proud of their long, characteristic, and fabulous Montenegrin culture.

Itinerary

DAY 1Kolašin - Rock climbing Kolašin

In the morning, after breakfast, you will be picked up at your accommodation (or by agreement) at approximately half-past nine on one of the most attractive rock climbing routes in all of Mount Bjelasica. Bjelasica, its sources and forests, beauty, is a perfect and stimulating environment for climbers. There are ideal terrains for free climbing, a rock with a lot of forest around the climbing area, a spring, various directions, suitable for both beginners and advanced climbers.

The rock has three sectors 10 to 30 meters high. The first of which is close to the road, and to the second and third you need to walk a little through the forest. A well-equipped climbing area, whose 31 climbing routes have been for many a place of premiere ascent, and discoveries of one’s own physical and spiritual strengths and abilities.

DAY 2Rock climbing Dobrilovina by Mojkovac

After breakfast, at 8 o’clock at the latest, a local climbing guide will meet you by your stay and take to one of the very alluring rock climbing routes next to the famous canyon of the Tara River. The rock climbing area in Dobrilovina is located next to Đurova cave with a pleasant ambiance, perfect rock quality, and in the shade for most of the day. The climbing area is not far from the road to Žabljak and the monumentality of the Tara canyon gives it a special charm.

The rock has almost perfect rock quality and a nice wall base and is one of the few that are in the shade during most of the day, so it is very suitable in the summer. It has the basic infrastructure (wooden table and benches). For now, there are 35 established routes in the climbing area. These are quality routes mainly for moderate and more professional climbers.

DAY 3Rock climbing Durmitor

After breakfast, you’ll leave your accommodation and get towards Žabljak and Durmitor and accompany your rock climbing guide to begin today’s sport climbing, which will take around 6 hours. Enjoy sport climbing on the natural rocks of Pirlitor within the Durmitor National Park, which is located 11 km from Žabljak, on the edge of the Tara canyon.

On this site, there are two walls with directions and suitable for beginners and experienced climbers. Both walls are equipped with the safest sports climbing equipment. The sloping rock on the east wall is simple and ideal for beginners. There are six climbing routes, about 10 m high, with difficulties between 3 and 4+ (French scale). The west wall is a vertical, articulated cliff with fourteen long directions, weighing from 5b to 7b + and up to 30 meters high.

After today’s rock climbing at Durmitor, here ends your climbing adventure, where you travel back to their home or perchance continue your enchanting tour.

Arrival info

Arrival
You arrive at the destination under your ways, and you are responsible for being at the meeting place at the scheduled time. In case you are late, you are obliged to inform us in advance and on time.

Starts on & Ends on of the Tour

Starts on: Kolašin or Mojkovac. We’ll meet you by your accommodation according to the scheduled time, or on the agreement. Our guide/driver will be waiting for you outside your accommodation in the parking lot with your name written on our signboard.

Ends on: Kolašin or Mojkovac. Our guide/driver will leave you outside your last stay in the parking lot. It’s time to journey back home or continue the tour. You depart on your own, and transfer is not included.

If you can’t find transportation to get to us, we will be happy to organize transportation (dependent on availability). Also, you can book your transfers directly online when you book your tour.

Accommodation, meals & activities

Accommodation:
For each day, in the itinerary, you can separately see which place, as well as what type of accommodation you will be staying at.

In order to have the best accommodation for our travelers, in terms of both price and location, we will make flexible bookings with our accommodation partners and in the final agreement, we will inform the passenger about his/hers accommodation 14 days before departure at the latest. This all means that you will get the best possible accommodation with the most attractive location, for the considerable price of course.

Many of the tour operators have accommodation located on the outskirts of the city or a long way from attractive places in order to get a lower price for their travel programs. Being far away from your desired location means that you will have additional transport costs and the unnecessary loss of your precious time during the stay. That’s why we want it to be our last option, and that the guest gets the best accommodation for all destinations during the tour.

E.g. In order to avoid the previously said, instead of 3 stars hotel, you may be offered 4 stars hotel with a better location, facilities or other content if it is the same class hotel.

Meals:
For each day, in the itinerary, you can separately see whether meals are involved as well as which meals are included.

Please inform us in advance if you are a vegetarian or vegan, or in case you have special dietary requirements or allergies, and we’ll do our best to cater for you.

For each day, in the itinerary you can separately see which place, as well as what type of activities you will have, or alternatively which optional activity you can book.

We will make a unique activity program in order to provide the best experience for our travelers, in terms of attractive activities and locations chosen by our team, as well as activities chosen by our partners. This all means that you will get the best possible enjoyment that will leave you breathless. Also, safety and service are the priority of all our offers.

Booking Confirmation & Voucher

Please confirm your booking in accordance with terms and conditions online or contact the travel agency within 7 days of the booking date. Confirm booking immediately upon booking if it’s less than 7 days before the scheduled departure for the tour.
Bookings that are made online can be confirmed using My Account. The information available includes, you’ll be able to track the confirmation, track your payment status, boarding and arrival locations and you can also rate the tour after you finished the tour. Note: Bookings made by phone cannot be checked from My Account.
Also, show either a paper or an electronic voucher to your tour guide at the start of the tour.

Change and Cancellation Policy

Change:
All changes are subject to availability and a price increase or equivalent administrative charge imposed on the holder of the credit card used during the booking process.
• For any type of change, please contact our Customer Center directly.
• The addresses or location on the voucher are the places where you will be picked up and left.

Montenegro Adventure also reserves the right not to offer the tour if the ordered service differs too much from the service booked at the first opportunity. Changes made less than 48 hours before scheduled departure time are not allowed unless the transfer provider or destination requires otherwise.

Cancellation:
The client is entitled to cancel the tour and is required to inform the Montenegro Adventure. Cancellation can be made on our website or by e-mail: booking@montenegroadventure.travel. The date of the written cancellation is the basis for calculating the fee, according to the General Terms and Conditions of the Montenegro Adventure, expressed as a percentage of the total price, if it’s not otherwise stated, as follows:
• Any booking cancelled more than 61 days prior to arrival date pays a 10% fee.
• Bookings cancelled between 60 and 31 days of arrival date pay a 25% cancellation fee.
• Bookings cancelled between 30 and 12 days of arrival date pay a 50% cancellation fee.
• Bookings cancelled less than 11 days from arrival date pay a 100% cancellation fee.

We advise all clients to take out cancellation insurance.

Additional information & Prices

• Price is based on group 4 – 8 participants (adults) and per person, as well as according to the suggested date of the tour.
• To realize this tour must be at least 4 people, ie for the 1 – 3 people it’s possible to organize as a “private tour” (for the price of 4 people with a smaller discount, or contact us).
• If there is an insufficient number of participants during your reservation and you want to book a “private tour” and pay a deposit, but in the meantime, other people also booked then, the basic price will be calculated. Just give us a notification when booking for this “basic” option.
• The tour duration can be customized to your needs according to your wishes for a shorter or longer period. Contact us to customize to your needs.

Gratuity (Tip, Bakhshish): Your Montenegro Adventure crew never expect tip themselves and will not request for any. However, if you are pleased with our staff who have served you, and you still want to give tip, our staff will appreciate it and be grateful for your gesture.
Clothes: Make sure you wear comfortable clothes and shoes for the tour. Hat or cap, sunscreen, and appropriate sun protection clothing is required during warmer months. A small umbrella or raincoat for rain will be useful in case of light rain. The weather in the mountains of Montenegro can be very unpredictable (warmer clothing for months other than summer). Please prepare for various weather conditions.
