Boka Bay is a “must-do” attraction that includes the cable car ride, Old Kotor, Perast, and Our Lady of the Rocks. What to Expect

The first place we go will be at a cable car that offers breathtaking views of the Adriatic Sea and the Bay of Kotor. The highest point offers a spectacular view of the mountains and Kotor Bay from every angle, and it’s a great spot for activities, coffee, or just enjoying the view. There is a total of 48 gondolas, a 1,300-meter height difference, and the ride takes 11 minutes each way. There are more than four kilometres of gondola ride.

Our next stop for sightseeing will be Old Town Kotor, which is located at the very end of Boka Bay. During the guided walking tour of the town, you will pass by the Squares of Arms, Flour, Saint Tryphon, Churches, and Salade, among others. There are various palaces that once belonged to Kotor’s famed noble families, as well as the 16th-century Clock Tower, which houses the mediaeval column of shame. The Cathedral of Saint Tryphon is undoubtedly the most outstanding building in town, impressing all tourists with its history and timeless beauty spanning over 1000 years. The nautical Museum introduces visitors to 10 centuries of nautical history, while the Museum of Cats is ideal for cat lovers!

We continue our tour by travelling the lovely route to Perast, the historic captains’ town and the best-preserved Baroque town on the Adriatic coast. The sumptuous houses and Saint Nicholas Cathedral, with its 55-meter-tall bell tower (1691), will definitely delight you. It is the most beautiful example of a detailed bell tower with a pyramidal end on the Adriatic coastline.

During the tour, we will take a short boat ride to the “Our Lady of the Rocks” island and visit its church and museum. The church’s walls and ceiling are decorated with 68 canvases, each painted by one of the most well-known local baroque painters, Tripo Kokolj.

Welcome meeting and departure

We’ll meet about 10 minutes before the departure time at the location after the program or agreement in Budva/Bečići for a “welcome meeting”. We will agree on a start time for the tour.

30 minShort drive to Dub - Cable Car's start point

A short drive to Cable Car’s starting point—Dub, the Lower Station—and also to take you back after your cable car ride returns. 

Situated about 5 kilometers from Kotor Old Town—Dub, the Lower Station of the cable car is just 200 meters away from the Tivat-Kotor road.

Everything is easily accessible and made with your needs in mind. Here at Dub Station, we’ve lined up activities to make the ride leading up to an amazing experience even more enjoyable.

We will embark on a short boat ride to the artificial island known as “Our Lady of the Rocks,” which is one of the two islets located off the coast of Perast. The other is Sveti Đorđe island. The Catholic Church of Our Lady of the Rocks (Montenegrin: Gospa od Škrpjela) stands as the largest structure on the islet, complemented by an attached museum. A small gift shop is located near the church, along with a navigation light positioned at the northern end of the islet. 

Take a break from sightseeing and have lunch on the shoreline at one of the many famous Perast restaurants, before going back to Budva (not included in the price).

About Boarding and Arrival Locations

– About hotel guests: According to the planned program for pick-up and drop-off locations and times. If agree to pick-up and drop-off service from the hotel, then a boarding location will be the parking lot outside the hotel, or in front of the hotel at the agreed time specified in the voucher, or by agreement.
– About other guests: If you come on your own, in your car or bus, you will be at the meeting point at least 10-15 minutes before the “welcome meeting“ and departure. Please, check our website or travel agency beforehand for the correct locations and times.

Booking confirmation & Voucher

– Please confirm your booking in accordance with terms and conditions, or contact the travel agency. Confirm booking within 7 days of the booking date by paying a 30% deposit, and the rest based on a payment plan. Please, confirm the booking immediately during the booking process if it’s less than 7 days before the planned departure for this day tour.

NOTEIf you don’t confirm your booking within the stipulated period, your booking will be cancelled automatically. In that case, a new booking must be made, but then we don’t guarantee availability.

All of our customers who are booking with Montenegro Adventure supplies with useful material to ensure a worry-free, yet adventurous tour. Upon receipt of full payment, the customer receives an e-Voucher with all material delivered by e-mail which can be printed as PDFs or redeemed on mobile.

This e-Voucher includes:
• A detailed itinerary
• Copies of your activity vouchers and invoices
• A detailed map with your route and day tour marked

Voucher:
The customer is supposed to show either a paper or an e-Voucher to our staff or tour guide at the start of the tour.

Change and Cancellation Policy

Change:
All changes are subject to availability and a price increase or equivalent administrative charge imposed during the booking process.

  • For any type of change, please contact our Customer Center directly.
  • The addresses or locations on the voucher are the places where you will be picked up and left.

Montenegro Adventure also reserves the right not to offer the tour if the ordered service differs too much from the service booked at the first opportunity. Changes made less than 7 days before the scheduled departure time are not allowed unless the transfer provider or destination requires otherwise.

Cancellation Policy:
The passenger is entitled to cancel the day tour and is required to inform the organizer. Cancellation can be made directly on the website, or in writing, including by e-mail: booking@montenegroadventure.travel. The date of the written cancellation is the basis for calculating the fee, according to the law of the Organizer, expressed as a percentage of the total price, if the program is not otherwise stated, as follows:

  • no cancellation fee if cancelled at least 7 days before the scheduled departure
  •  50% if cancelled 6 – 3 days before the scheduled departure
  •  100% if cancelled within 48 hours before the scheduled departure

Note: If a day tour is missed due to delays or a missed arrival, refunds will not be issued

We advise all clients to take out cancellation insurance.

RELEASE:
It is recommended to book as early as possible to guarantee availability – or at least seven days before departure for a day tour.

  • If there is an insufficient number of participants during your reservation and you want to book a “private day tour” and pay a deposit, but in the meantime, other people also booked then, the basic price will be calculated. Just give us a notification when booking for this “basic” option.

Good to Know

TIPPING (Gratuity, Bakhshish): Please note that tipping is customary in Montenegro since a service charge is not added to the bill for example meals at restaurants, guide/driver, and so on. However, a modest tip is always appreciated when left as a thank you to staff who have served you, for exceptional service on a guided tour or at a restaurant, for example. The staff will appreciate it and be grateful for your gesture.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: This is an easy/moderate difficult day tour, with a few long sightseeing combined with activities such as walking. We recommend you be physically fit for the trip.
SUGGESTED PACKING LIST: Credit card, extra cash – euro € (currency), camera (possibly extra batteries and memory card), sunblock, sunglasses, sun hat or cap, water bottle, smaller rucksack, flashlight/torch, personal first aid kit (possibly. hand sanitiser, mask).

CLOTHES: Make sure you wear comfortable clothes and shoes for the day tour. A hat or cap, sunscreen, and appropriate sun protection clothing is required during warmer months. A small umbrella or raincoat for rain will be useful in case of light rain. The weather in the mountains of Montenegro can be very unpredictable (warmer clothing for months other than summer). Please prepare for various weather conditions.
DON’T FORGET THE ESSENTIALS: ID or original passport, Certificate that you have been Covid 19 vaccinated, personal medications, and other essentials you need during your day tour.
