What to Expect

If you ask about iconic peaks to climb in Montenegro, Bobotov Kuk peak (2523 m) will probably be one of the firsts to be mentioned. This peaked mountain is worth your effort, because of its unbelievable scenery and views on the Durmitor mountain range. Apart from Durmitor, we have the opportunity to climb the beautiful mountain Bjelasica, as well as on the slopes near the famous canyon of the river Tara. That is why we designed the ideal program for you if you have some climbing experience and you are in good physical condition.

On these rock climbing sites, there are walls with directions suitable for beginners and experienced climbers. The walls are equipped with the safest sports climbing equipment. After all, in your free time, you have the opportunity to complete your adventure with attractive activities, such as rafting, paragliding, canyoning, etc. When not mountain climbing there is a myriad of villages and towns to discover, with many areas particularly proud of their long, characteristic, and fabulous Montenegrin culture.

Itinerary

DAY 1Arrival at airport Podgorica - travel to Kolašin

The first day is simply the day of arrival without some organized activities. We’ll meet you at the airport in the arrivals lounge after your plane landed for a “welcome meeting”, according to the scheduled time, or on the agreement.

Our guide/driver will be waiting for you outside the arrival lounge with your name written on our signboard, where will get you more details about the tour. Our guide can give you more details about the tour. If you’re going to be late, please inform us.

Driving from Podgorica to your stay in Kolašin or on Bjelasica mountain.

If you arrive early, we can book you some activity from our optional activities on this day. You get time to relax and see some of the sights you might want to add to your tour.

DAY 2Rock climbing Kolašin

In the morning, after breakfast, you will be picked up at your accommodation at approximately 09:00 on one of the most attractive rock climbing routes in all of Mount Bjelasica. Bjelasica, its sources and forests, beauty, is a perfect and stimulating environment for climbers. There are ideal terrains for free climbing, a rock with a lot of forest around the climbing area, a spring, various directions, suitable for both beginners and advanced climbers.

The rock has three sectors 10 to 30 meters high. The first of which is close to the road, and to the second and third you need to walk a little through the forest. A well-equipped climbing area, whose 31 climbing routes have been for many a place of premiere ascent, and discoveries of one’s own physical and spiritual strengths and abilities.

DAY 3Rock climbing Dobrilovina by Mojkovac

After breakfast, at 8 o’clock at the latest, a local climbing guide will meet you by your stay and take you to one of the very alluring rock climbing routes next to the famous canyon of the Tara River. The rock climbing area in Dobrilovina is located next to Đurova cave with a pleasant ambience, perfect rock quality, and in the shade for most of the day. The climbing area is not far from the road to Žabljak and the monumentality of the Tara canyon gives it a special charm.

The rock has almost perfect rock quality and a nice wall base and is one of the few that are in the shade during most of the day, so it is very suitable in the summer. It has the basic infrastructure (wooden table and benches). For now, there are 35 established routes in the climbing area. These are quality routes mainly for moderate and more professional climbers.

DAY 4 Kolašin - Journey to Durmitor mountain (Rafting & zipline – optional)

After breakfast at half-past nine, you check out of our accommodation and travel to Durmitor mountain. On the way, at Đurđevića Tara bridge, opportunity to experience Canyon Tara River with whitewater rafting, Šljivansko-Žugića Luka, that will delight you! Rafting through the most attractive areas of the river Tara. Stop at the Ljutica river, for photography and sightseeing. Rafting continues under Đurđevića Tara bridge. Swimming in the cool green eddies. Rafting final destination Žugića Luka. End of rafting and lunch.

After rafting, ride choose one of the three types of ziplines across the ravine by the bridge, a little, big, or extreme zipline. After exciting activities, and visiting the attractive Đurđevića Tara Bridge, journey uphill graceful Tara River Canyon to our next stat on Durmitor mountain – Žabljak. Arrival at Žabljak (1450 m), one of the most genuine rustic places to stay in on the Durmitor mountain. Check-in at your accommodation.

DAY 5Via ferrata with hiking Durmitor mountain tour

After breakfast, we have a Via Ferrata Durmitor, made at the highest altitude compared to the surrounding countries, and is one of the highest ones in Europe. It is located in the vicinity of the road crossing over the mountain pass Sedlo (1907m). Ferrata length is around 400m, the height difference is 230m, and is graded as moderately difficult to difficult – B/C. There are two benches on the Ferrata that offer an excellent view of Sedlo and Stozina. From the top of the Ferrata, namely from the top of Uvita Greda you can see the entire Durmitor.

Also, when we climb Uvita Greda, we hike across the Durmitor mountain towards Bobotov Kuk (2523 m). The peculiarity of this tour is in the beauty of gorgeous and magnificent mountain scenery, like the views that will leave you breathless from whose peaks offers fantastic views to the distant horizons of the canyons Tara and the highest peaks of Durmitor mountain. Lunch while day tour (lunchbox).

Alternatively, enjoy a lazy morning before taking in the meadows of Žabljak’s at a steady pace. And, as the evening approaches, you can rest your tired legs at one of the town’s restaurants with a delicious dinner! Free time, dinner, and overnight.

DAY 7Rock climbing Durmitor

Fuel up with some breakfast and in accompany of your rock climbing guide begin today’s rock climbing, which will take around 6 hours. Enjoy sport climbing on the natural rocks of Pirlitor within the Durmitor National Park, which is located 11 km from Žabljak, on the edge of the Tara canyon.

On this site, there are two walls with directions and suitable for beginners and experienced climbers. Both walls are equipped with the safest sports climbing equipment. The sloping rock on the east wall is simple and ideal for beginners. There are six climbing routes, about 10 m high, with difficulties between 3 and 4+ (French scale). The west wall is a vertical, articulated cliff with fourteen long directions, weighing from 5b to 7b + and up to 30 meters high.

For each day, in the itinerary, you can separately see which place, as well as what type of accommodation you will be staying at.

In order to have the best accommodation for our travellers, in terms of both price and location, we will make flexible bookings with our accommodation partners and in the final agreement, we will inform the passenger about his/her accommodation 14 days before departure at the latest. This all means that you will get the best possible accommodation with the most attractive location, for a considerable price of course.

Many of the tour operators have accommodation located on the outskirts of the city or a long way from attractive places in order to get a lower price for their travel programs. Being far away from your desired location means that you will have additional transport costs and the unnecessary loss of your precious time during the stay. That’s why we want it to be our last option, and that the guest gets the best accommodation for all destinations during the tour.

E.g. In order to avoid the previously said, instead of 3 stars hotel, you may be offered 4 stars hotel with a better location, facilities or other content if it is the same class hotel.

Booking Confirmation & Voucher

Please confirm your booking in accordance with terms and conditions online or contact the travel agency within 7 days of the booking date. Confirm booking immediately upon booking if it’s less than 7 days before the scheduled departure for the tour.
Bookings that are made online can be confirmed using My Account. The information available includes, you’ll be able to track the confirmation, track your payment status, boarding and arrival locations and you can also rate the tour after you finished the tour. Note: Bookings made by phone cannot be checked from My Account.
Also, show either a paper or an electronic voucher to your tour guide at the start of the tour.

Change and Cancellation Policy

Change:
All changes are subject to availability and a price increase or equivalent administrative charge imposed on the holder of the credit card used during the booking process.
• For any type of change, please contact our Customer Center directly.
• The addresses or location on the voucher are the places where you will be picked up and left.

Montenegro Adventure also reserves the right not to offer the tour if the ordered service differs too much from the service booked at the first opportunity. Changes made less than 48 hours before scheduled departure time are not allowed unless the transfer provider or destination requires otherwise.

Cancellation:
The client is entitled to cancel the tour and is required to inform the Montenegro Adventure. Cancellation can be made on our website or by e-mail: booking@montenegroadventure.travel. The date of the written cancellation is the basis for calculating the fee, according to the General Terms and Conditions of the Montenegro Adventure, expressed as a percentage of the total price, if it’s not otherwise stated, as follows:
• Any booking cancelled more than 61 days prior to arrival date pays a 10% fee.
• Bookings cancelled between 60 and 31 days of arrival date pay a 25% cancellation fee.
• Bookings cancelled between 30 and 12 days of arrival date pay a 50% cancellation fee.
• Bookings cancelled less than 11 days from arrival date pay a 100% cancellation fee.

We advise all clients to take out cancellation insurance.

Clothes: Make sure you wear comfortable clothes and shoes for the tour. A hat or cap, sunscreen, and appropriate sun protection clothing is required during warmer months. A small umbrella or raincoat for rain will be useful in case of light rain. The weather in the mountains of Montenegro can be very unpredictable (warmer clothing for months other than summer).
